For couples

Share a life, not a spreadsheet.

Groceries, rent, holidays and the takeaway — split fifty-fifty, in proportion to what you each earn, or line by line, with one number that says where the two of you stand. No joint account and no bank connection needed.

Friends: the running balance with each person you split with, those with something to settle listed first.

Just the two of you

Add your partner as a friend and split straight away — no group to set up. One running balance says who is ahead, and settling up records it when the money changes hands.

An expense split by chosen shares, showing who paid and what each person owes.

Fifty-fifty, or fair

Many couples split in proportion to income rather than down the middle. Split by percentage — sixty-forty, seventy-thirty — or by shares, exact amounts or item by item. Change it per expense.

Totals: a donut chart of where the money went by category, what was spent in all, and each person's share.

See where it goes

Totals show what the two of you spent by category, who has been paying, and your share of it — without either of you connecting a bank account.

Holidays in any currency

160+ currencies at the rate from the day each expense happened, and each of you reads the balance in your own.

Only the two of you see it

A ledger is visible to the people in it and nobody else. No bank feed, no ads, and nothing sold.

Nobody pays for the other

Everything here is free for both of you. Pro is one person's subscription and never gates the other.

At the market, no signal

Add it where you paid. It syncs later, in order, and is never counted twice.

Couples

What couples ask about splitting costs.

How do couples split expenses fairly?

The two common ways are fifty-fifty, and in proportion to income — for example sixty-forty when one partner earns more. Some couples split shared costs and keep personal ones separate. Antemate supports all of these, per expense: equally, by percentage, by shares, by exact amounts or item by item.

Can we split by income, like 60/40?

Yes. Choose percentage when you add the expense and set sixty-forty, or whatever you agree. You can use a different split for different kinds of expense.

Does Antemate connect to our bank accounts?

No. Nothing is read from a bank and no joint account is needed. You add what was paid, and Antemate keeps the balance.

Do we both need to pay for it?

No. The ledger is free for both of you. Pro is optional, one person's subscription, and never limits the other.
